You started out in dutch, but now you started in english too.

That's right. Since februari I started translating most of the site. When I started writing I just didn't have any idea of what the audience would be. I didn't write for english people. I didn't write for an audience at all. Just for the writing itself. And so the text were dutch. And later on there were more and more images on the site and it got more visual. Also some games. Those were easy to translate, so I did that and I've left the long dutch texts out, because for me that's just too hard to translate. When I try to translate it, it doesn't sound like me. It's just not my language.

...it's not your words anymore.

And you keep wondering: how would this sound for someone who actually knew this language as his own language? I just doesn't work.

Maybe you could ask people to help you translate in english. Because you're the only person who's behind this now.

I thought of that. I don't know. I just like to have control over everything. For me it's just a nice thing to do in the evening. In my little world. Yes, that's what I like about it.

Ok. Why do you think people come to your site and keep on coming back?

Well, I keep wondering that. But people do. It started out being linked from other literary sites. Basically because it was only text. And then later on I got more and more 'bizarre' sites. And once I had an audience and enough links, other links would follow from sites I never heard of. Like the happy little girls pages has a link to me. From intellectual.nl to bizarsite.nl. A strange range. I have some banners on sites that really pull in the audience. Right now I'm going to promote the site on english pages. So I expect lots of people to come to the english part in the future.

But that's the only way you promote your site. Just by going to other sites and telling them about yourself?

That's the best way. Going on the net itself and finding similar people. Because I've tried an exhibition. That was a total failure. Because you can't put a web-site on display on a computer. It's not meant te be that way. That's just not my medium I guess
