Well, of course I'll keep translating. And also, of course there'll be a new page every week. That'll steadily go on.

Every week you make a new page?

I try to. And every two weeks I make an animation. That's my goal for myself. But the main difference is that I'd like to give more influence to the people who come there. Not just their own colour, but also their own layout, so they get the feeling that they have their own home page within the site. It would have more of a community feel to it. There's a chat room now, which I want to make totally freaky with everyone running aroud as insects. Stuff like that. And just playing around with that. Like right now I have a guest book which really explodes every month.

The guestbook really started growing when I put my responses next to it. So people left messages and I put my replies next to that and this dialog started, which is also where you came in. We can't leave this out. That you... Is this on tape? Because this is important. I have to stess this, that you are not just someone who stumbled onto my site. You're the girl who's been typing these little entries in my guestbook for the last year now. You were one of the first ones who made an entry in my guestbook demanding her own colour as well!

Well, well I like the colour pink and and I heard you liked people to influence his site. So I said I'd like to be pink and since the last year I've been pink.

Now all the regular visitors have their own colour you can really tell which is which.

If you come into the guestbook a lot and you enter your name and message, your message gets its own colour.

It doesn't sound like much...

It means a lot to people. To have their own colour. I don't know why that is. I can't imagine.

I think it's because the internet is something you only watch and you can't do a lot about it, especially about sites. You can e-mail and make your own web site, but when you don't have your own web site, it's just wathing what other people do. When you can influence that, that's kind of fun.

...with THE Marjolijn. So that's the sort of combinations I like to make. Not just what's in my head. When you just walk around with a camera and meet people, totally unexpected things can happen, which you can't really think of. That's the way I'd like to work. Another example is the page where you could give me advice on where I should go. The question was "Where should I go this summer?" You plant some flags, make some suggestions. People voted on that and it turned out to be Amsterdam, so I went there and made some pictures. I wouldn't have done that otherwise.
