i need advice

hey ppl i need advice. My friend just got informed that she has cancer. and i have no idea how to support her. like what do i say to her? its so hard i need help desperatly -Mango

first off, both of you need to remember cancer is no longer a death warrant.. A very high percentage of cancers are now curable. Let her know she does not face this alone, that you will be there for her. Be honest with her, and i suspect your support will come natural to you.. Above all don't let fear rule your thinking.. Your smile will speak louder to her than words... Support her with the closeness only you can give. Blessings...

when she wants to talk about it. Don't always try and 'distract' her and try to make her think of other, happier, things. Some people feel more empowered and 'in control' when they read a lot about cancer and treatments available. Others don't really want to know. You'll figure out how your friend wants to go about it. And I agree with Wahoo when he says that it is important to keep in mind that cancer is no longer a death sentence. Wish you courage.
