hey, I just happened to be thinking today about the wineglasses, you know ''my'' wineglasses, and what a tremendous person you are to keep those precious mementos in such trusted security for me. never letting a thing happen to them, stored safely in your home, in pristine condition awaiting the day they can be given to me. and, well, the more I thought about it, the more I realized what a tremendous person you really are. see? I've mentioned this twice already in one paragraph and I can feel another mention bubbling right up in me. in fact with a swelling of pride, I've come to think of them more really as ''friendship glasses'' between us, something that truly symbolizes an unbreakable bond (male, of course).

this great idea to fully commemorate this deep and abiding appreciation for your friendship. so today I placed an order to have some etchings made on the wineglasses. I contacted an engraver who is a true artist (example illustration below) and, judging from this work, can no doubt etch an appropriate image or phrase. I was thinking of ''mates 4 ever'' -- what do you think? or perhaps a pair of hands stretching from one glass (with US map) to the other glass (with NZ map) and seeming to almost meet halfway as it were. cool, huh?

is a simple photo of ''my'' wineglasses. you know, for the goblet depth, stem length, diameter of opening, etc. the engraver said he'd be able to work up the design once he has these specs -- for which, of course, I already had to make a non-refundable downpayment, but hey!, this is worth it!! -- and then when I have the, sorry ''MY'' actual glasses, he'll be able to do the etching immediately. so, please send a couple of photos of the side view and top view (both glasses together, naturally). and I'll take care of the rest!
