Yes, I never ate the nasty Lutefisk at Christmas or the traditional Russian Christmas Eve dinner mom would make which included a fish because of lent. Yes, raised in the Russian/Greek Orthodox Church where there are 3 major lents a year, and every Wednesday/Friday, you eat no meat. Same during the lent. So, fish patties, etc. were a staple growing up. I laugh now, but it does limit life. I went on a field trip to the fish hatchery with my kid's class, and freaked when a salmon that was making it's way upstream to spawn jumped in front of me. I worked as a waitress, and found that I had to choose a restaurant to work in that did not serve seafood. I go chalk white at the sight of a fish on a plate. The list goes on. I basically avoid fish like the plague. Although, as long as my dad or boyfriend by steaks/filets and dispose of the skin, I'm okay. Otherwise, I'm fine...LOL. You are not alone....
