I was heating a can of soup, sealed, in the enviroscience lounge's toaster oven (as I lacked any other sort of container). I was speaking with some girls about a seminar that they are taking. One of them paused to look at me when I opened the little oven's hatch to rotate the can. ''Do those work like that?'' They must think me utterly insane, for I immediately pointed at each of them and told them, punctuated by the gesture at each word, ''Do not.. EVER.. do.. what I am now doing.'' I related to them that heating food in aluminium is terrible for you because there is a reaction that causes a toxin. One of them said that they had heard that, and another nodded. ''Now,'' I said, ''I am going to go enjoy my lunch!''
