the way of the world? Mutual influences, just like many asian countries for example that are hugely influenced by western culture. Believing in, caring for, enjoying, and promoting your own culture without necessarily wholly dismissing other cultures is an option? I think the Dutch generally have not taken their culture seriously, or though about it much, for a long time, and a revival would be cool! But the way the world is, I truly believe mutual influences are inevitable.

I've read the views of Geert Wilders. The simple fact is that at a certain point a nation loses its culture and very existence if there are too many immigrants from other cultures. Especially so if they refuse to assimilate, and insist that their own culture should predominate. It is happening all over Europe. It is ignored at our peril. Now sit back and wait for the politically correct to respond.

that there is a more than subtle difference between being influenced by other cultures - that has gone on since time immemorial across the globe - and the alternative of your own culture being overwhelmed from within. It speaks volumes when an elected member of a free speaking society needs to be physically protected for voicing an opinion. Have we forgotten Theo van Gogh so quickly ? It is not dismissing or having a lack of respect for other cultures - it is expecting them to respect our culture.

The good you find in others, is in you too, The faults you find in others are your faults as well. ~ After all, to recognize something you must know it. ~ The possibilities you see in others, Are possible for you as well. ~ The beauty you see around you is your beauty The world around you is a reflection, A mirror showing you the person you are. ~ To change your world, you must change yourself. To blame and complain will only make matters worse. Whatever you care about is your responsibility. What you see in others shows you yourself. ~ See the best in others, and you will be your best. Give to others, and you give to yourself. Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful. Admire creativity, and you will be creative. ~ Love, and you will be loved. Seek to understand, and you will be understood. Listen, and your voice will be heard. Teach, and you will learn. ~ Show your best face to the mirror, And you’ll be happy with the face looking back at you.

how does that remind me of someone? Sjeudebleu, 18 Nov 2004 19:47
whenever you post something, anything, and you don't like the reactions you get, what do you do?
answer 1---> remove every trace of it like for example rosi does.
answer 2--->kiss ass to the persons who gave the reactions like for example rosi does.
answer 3--->do both of the above and pretend it never happened like for example...never mind...it's none of my business...just observing and wondering who falls for it...

as i overlook my post above...''the faults you find in others are your faults as well... AGREE! í can be a hypocrite.(after all, to recognize something you must know it.) To blame and complain will only make matters worse...i guess i've got a lot to learn...i just accused someone. but what if i told you all that there was a time i wasn't so good, i cheated, misled people and made up lies, and what if i told you that i've changed myself, because i didn't want to look in my mirror anymore, i was disgusted by myself, and though i know i have a long way to go, i still recognize things now and then, whats the wizest thing to do? to let it go and just wait what happens or warn people that they're beeing misled?
