everyone takes it so fkn personally that i dont want to be an american anymore? oh and patriot, my family is a military family, i understand a lot more about what the military does for us then you seem to know. the military does what the government tells it to do, not what they think will help, so go on keep following orders, i hope it brings you far in life when your a retired vet living on the streets begging strangers for handouts.

Since we are widespread throughout the world I was hoping you all or maybe just even one of you could help me with something. I am an American bug, my name is Turtle. I wish quite badly to move out of America. Im not sure where I want to go, Im leaning toward Europe or Africa, maybe Japan anywhere really but here. Im looking for a little more individual freedom then I am offered here in the states. However i do not know where to start. where would i find info about immigration, how do i choose where i want to live. I think the best way to figure that out is to speak to bugs from those countries,any suggestions?

Try Amsterdam. I hear they are big on personal freedom, there. There you can be free to use drugs or be a prostitute or hire a prostitute! Please let me know if you need more info. The US is getting way too crowded for my liking.

thats a good idea, im not a drug user, nor am i much interested in prostitutes or being one, but it is comforting to know people have the right to make those decisions on their own, id love more info thanks, like can i move there and work legally?

as a place that ''offers a little more individual freedom than the states''?? ha ha...! for my twelve and a half years there, I was required by law to carry my fingerprinted and photographed foreigner ID card around with me at all times (I did make exceptions while soaking in the onsen ^^). I did not mind this affront to individual freedom because I knew that would be one of the (many!) conditions and curtailments of living in Japan. Turtle, if you are thinking about living in another country, do it because you have found something challenging there to look forward to and learn from -- not as a way of getting away from something you don't like about your own country.

as a japanese being in europe for 3 years... there they have much much more 'individual freedom'. i don't know the legal condition in japan since i'm a native japanese, but just about mentality... generally people in japan don't seek for individuality.
of course, depending on how you define 'freedom'... freedom and security exist in a society which values harmony more than individuality. i was a bit confused at the beginning of my life in holland, that i had to stand up + speak out as an individual...

living in another culture surely brings you different view on your own culture. you might re-evaluate yours, you might hate it worse than before, who knows... at least you would gain 3dimentional point of view, that's really really precious! especially for people living in a remote island... (to me usa seems a huge island)

I do live in califonia, san diego. i do not like it here much. my boyfriend put some weed in my purse, without me knowing. a cop stopped me, ask for my id, i opened my purse and got a ticket for having weed, even though my boyfriend told the cop it was his. and now i have a $75 ticket to pay for something i should not be held responsible for...

I know that is against the law but it is stupid that it is. how does that make me free that i cant walk down the street carrying something that isnt bothering anyone??? im tired of being surrounded by people who preach about how lucky we are, how free we are when im not free to do much that i care to. i realise it is not my life, im allowed to do what i want as long as its in the confines of the law. it is illegal to sleep on the beach, what the fuck is that? beach is public property, but only until 10pm(depending on what city your in) I cant camp on the side of the road if i want to. I saw a man giving FREE tarot readings on the sidewalk, he got a ticket for vagrancy. It wouldnt be so bad if my peers cared but they dont. you can only get something done in this country if you have a vast majority, i dont so im leaving. thanks though
