its interesting how different this is from the dutch version which just has two lines. It roughly states:
a plant is what it is
until it is until it is nothing

I wanted to write a poem on the Dutch side too. Never got round to it. Now I'm not so sure about the English poem. What do you think?

I especially enjoy the metre/cadence. It is simple but very effective and is something with which I think some poets struggle.
I also really like the stanza:
''You have no control,
your words can't convey
my spirit and soul,
to file it away.''
I think it pictures the essence of feeling trapped in and breaking free of the words of others.
I also like the last two lines
''Eyes open wide,
and you're aware of me''
I debated exactly what they meant. I think the comma is important in their interpretation.
