I love navigating Sjeu, 12 Mrt 2023 14:30
the space between ideas.

And stumbled upon this tool. But feel very hesitant to try it because my gut is telling me that it was built to teach AI about human reasoning. Combined with our digital data, which gets analyzed all the time. Like online purchases, searches for definitions and translations, our online habits and preferences..

Systems can not think autonomously and we should keep it that way. They have enormous qualities but they can't be of service to us, replacing human authority.

When you label something Sjeu, 04 Feb 2023 19:24
you don't yet fully understand, you're actually labeling your ignorance. Your personal filters can debilitate quality of life.

It can be interesting to freely explore the empty space around something you perceive. With only feelings of wonder. Can you see how the open space around 'something' is way bigger and more expansive? While it still defines that 'something'. It might take some practice but to observe life like this, feels free and powerful. It removes restrictions in perception.

En zag ik

Dus ik dacht, wacht;
Stilte met kracht
Dat is hier

Ook om

To Nobody
is there a word Nobody, 13 Feb 2023 13:49
...a word for the fear of being labeled?
And a word for the urge to label others?

To Sjeu
Human/ lust for managing and control? Sjeu, 13 Feb 2023 14:20
I don't really know at this point but it's an intruiging question and i would like to let it percolate for a bit..

First thought: it might depend on what causes that fear of being labeled. Or what drives that urge to label. My first guess is that both are fueled by the same things. Feeling inadequate, not enough, insecure, unloveble..

To Sjeu
So Sjeu, 13 Feb 2023 14:22
Maybe people label to mask that; If they point away and 'yell' hard enough, other people will probably not dare to label them. In a way they defend themselves.. external locus of control is the psychological term for that dynamic.

Maybe people fright being labeled because they don't feel secure or empowered enough to withstand or refute the involuntary claims made about them.. And fear their possible consequences.

To Sjeu
.. Sjeu, 13 Feb 2023 14:25
It hurts to be misunderstood. It underlines the inner wound of loneliness and not yet knowing how to carry yourself. It marks the sometimes painful search to find your place in the world.

Most people want to feel a sense of belonging, to feel welcome, worthy and valid.

While being misunderstood exclamates exclusion.

To Jogchem
Wow that's some deep insight Jogchem, 08 Mrt 2023 05:07
For now I'm just looking for the right word. Could be made up.

Thanks for 'percolate'... Like that one..

To Sjeu
You asked me to label those things Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:06
but I'm not sure how to precisely pin it, so I will just try to approach it from different angles. It might still not encompass everything but I'll give it my best shot.

My first connotation with labeling was quite negative. It had to do with being judged, misunderstood and disregarded.

When something/someone is labeled, it can be held and be moved around. The label adds a handle or grip and therefor it opens the option of being controlled.. the- framing, claiming, blaming game.

To Sjeu
However, as you surely understand Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:08
to label is not inherently good or bad, it can actually be put to use as a tool, using it with that intention.
When organizing stuff of whatever kind, it can be helpful. Especially when working on that stuff with others.

It can bring clarity and ease. To sort out and cluster your old stuff can be very therapeutic. The result can be very satisfying as the end result caters a crisp overview. You eliminate unnecessary noise, clear physical space and minimize messy mental space.

To Sjeu
To put a label on people Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:09
has a different tone to it. (Well to me it does) And yes it can in a way minimize emotional and mental space but it also feels unjust. People change from moment to moment, and people can think, feel and act conditional upon multiple factors. When labeled to tightly, it can discourage growth. While it's only natural to want to evolve and develop to your best potential.

Also a label makes you visible. Not everyone likes to be noticed. It can feel more safe to remain invisible in the masses.

To Sjeu
It might also happen that some people Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:13
attach to it and put effort in living up to their desired labels, even doing things that are
inauthentic and unnatural to them. Or consciously act around an undesired label..

In a way a label can have a Hawthorne effect. Therefor it diminishes ingenuity. In that sense it can be used for social engineering by ill-intended parties. I'm not yet aware of consented labels but I feel it's only healthy to refrain from labeling people and just let others glow and flow as they go in idiosyncrasy :-)

To Sjeu
A label can sometimes help a bit Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:16
with managing expectations when it's utilized as a plausible clue. Eg. at times I will mention that I'm also a wheelchair user. Sometimes it can be practical to inform other people, as it enables them to proactively deal with accessibility. This can be helpful for both parties. However, someone with exact mutual health issues, might need different actions or have different preferences or needs within the same situation. I strive to see everyone as a unique expression and a dynamic whole being.

To Sjeu
So.. Sjeu, 14 Feb 2023 22:18
I still don't have a word/label for either of those phenomenons. What would you call it then?

When you encounter it, only taking a look at the environment might clarify things and encourage compassion too. People tend to stay around where they are facilitated in their current needs. Their behavior might be a reflection in some way.

But it's good to also stay aware that any interpretation is just as fluid as the broad spectrum of human behavior. Therefor hold it loosely.

To Jogchem
I'm thinking Jogchem, 08 Mrt 2023 05:10
Labelphobia and labelphilia. I'd like to know the latin word for label.

To Jogchem
Etiquetas apparently Jogchem, 08 Mrt 2023 05:16
So etiquetophobia and etiquetophilia?
Or etiquetAphobia?
No idea what I'm doing...

To Sjeu
I'm not yet schooled in latin Sjeu, 08 Mrt 2023 11:39
so I tried some things;
eminus electus - (from a distance chosen)
brevis bene electus (short, well chosen)
vero electus (in truth, indeed chosen)
placitum electus- judgment, chosen)
inceptum lingua (attempt language)
velociter electus (swiftly chosen)

From there I got to the word citer
and it seems to fit in your search

Citer o philia and citer o phobia?

To Sjeu
Like a book Sjeu, 15 Feb 2023 08:42
is more than it's cover and title. It's more broad than the snippet on the backflap. A lot of people have the capacity to write a plot twist in their stories :-)

Sometimes ''labels'' have a truth that is the opposite. Experiencing the ''label'' creates energetic alignment and the intention to bring forth the opposite experience.

To Sjeu
In a positive way, Sjeu, 15 Feb 2023 09:17
depending on it's context, a label can sometimes reveal some truth of our heart's desires. You can utilize your 'label' to help yourself create a different reality. Your 'label' can become pushing off points for evolution and clarity.

To do this, you have to start first with an awareness of what you desire to be your Truth.
That may take some time and practice. Where (in stead of labeling) you can say, I'm on my way to becoming more.. and do more of.. and therefor I'm having.. and I need..

To Jogchem
Thanks! Thats great input Jogchem, 08 Mrt 2023 05:12
I like the unintentional labeling. And the positive effect.

To Sjeu
Guess I'm expanding my view Sjeu, 09 Mrt 2023 14:10
on labeling. Kind of.. Because I realized that I've been labeling my houseplants for the past few years. Added little nametags in their soil. Even though I know their names by heart, I wanted to really get to know about them and their needs. Also if anything were to happen to me, anyone dealing with them after me, would have a cue on treating them correctly. However, their label corresponds with the known information about them and their expression seems less complex then human expressions.

To Sjeu
Also Sjeu, 09 Mrt 2023 14:12
any garden wil profit from people with knowledge
of any plants growing there. I learn from my own proces of creating a little flowering foodgarden how abundant I feel when I notice new plants popping up. When before I would only be annoyed for assuming 'they would just be weeds'.

To Sjeu
Now Sjeu, 09 Mrt 2023 14:15
I know how plants support each other and how you can use their specific presence as a marker to check on soil health. They are my companions that show me how to support my garden and so do the insects and other animals that I meet in there. Maybe labeling plants, can help people to learn about them and hopefully it gets people more curious. It's really a very rich and satisfying experience!

To Sjeu
Well Sjeu, 09 Mrt 2023 14:20
I guess my previous view was
a bit coloured from old issues
of being misdiagnosed and falsely
being medicalized with purpose of
profit for shady industries. Luckily
I've overcome the detrimental effects.
It still reminds me to stay vigilant..
There should always be a free space
where anything and anyone can grow
around any label. That's nature.

To Sjeu
Knowing the names Sjeu, 07 Mei 2023 18:02
of my house and garden plants, helps me to feel responsible about their well-being. It allows me to be curious of their medicinal properties. No matter how they perform, it's about connecting with nature too. My garden freely grows exactly what I need to thrive. With my research on what plants have shown up and their qualities, I can support myself to heal in a natural way. They know me and support me and I support them as best as I can so to create a mutual symbiosis.

To Sjeu
Words are hard to find but I'll try.. Sjeu, 02 Mrt 2023 10:37
In Dutch I made 2 new words. 'Omvatter' and because not everything can be captured, also 'Ontvatter'.

In englisch language it would translate into something like a 'Compriser' =encapture and a 'Decompriser' =unmask.

In French language, Priser means sniffing and I find that funny because a nose also represents intuïtion.

Wordfamily would be Prise = waarderen, Allpriser = alleskunner, Conprise = bedriegen, Deprise = verachten, Reprise = hernemen.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Aw.. :-D cat.here Sjeu, 23 Jan 2023 15:15
My cat is called Tof and he's just the best! To have pets around is a true bliss. I also have 2 dogs and 2 dwarf parrots. They all get along so well, which makes me a very happy furry & feather mom.

Maybe someday you will get another cat and then name it something more meowy :-)

To Sjeu
But to be frank, my little lady dog Sjeu, 24 Jan 2023 18:20
used to have a habit of walking the exact opposite way when I'd call her. Her early past caused her to have a complicated attachment style. I just kept on inviting her and supporting her to join the rest of us at her own pace and in her own way. So glad that she was able to grow more confidence and she now dares to take up and own her space. You see each animal has it's own character (and manual) :-) And just like us, they show resilience when given love and some space.

To Sjeu
She tought me how to hold her Sjeu, 31 Jan 2023 21:53
in a supportive way where she can feel comfortable while being close. To her it's important that she can view her surroundings and she needs her front paws to be free. She calms down when I support her waist and with my other hand I hold her rear paws together. My other animals love that too. That's how they know I'm there for them and they can relax. I hold her to my chest while taking deep breaths in. Then I move my focus to how much I love her and breath out through my heart, into her.

To Sjeu
Jippie Jofel Sjeu, 31 Jan 2023 22:08
When she lies besides me (usually tight against my back, or just chilling on her back with one paw touching me, I feel so very blessed. We've come a long way. She is very smart and has the sweetest smile. I'm very proud of her.

Her twin brother always wants to be as close as possible. Wants to sit on my lap all the time and asks for attention a lot. He learned to give her space too. She now communicates her boundries well and eventhough she's smaller, she knows how to deal with his dominance.

To Sjeu
I love it Sjeu, 31 Jan 2023 22:22
when all three bundle their furryness and snuggle up next to me. They see the cat as their sibbling. They are all about the same size. They take great care of me. They escort me to the bathroom :-) They take me to bed. Sometimes at night the cat goes hunting but as soon as my dogs see me wake up in the morning, one of them runs into the back yard and barks in a certain way and then return with the cat into the house for our little grouphug and some playtime. How's that for a morning routine :-)
